Recommended podcasts

Today's suggestion: James Golden (a.k.a. Bo Snerdley)

So I guess it’s time for an admission — I’m Schnorflepuppy, and I’m a podcast addict. (waits while everyone says “Hi, Schnorflepuppy”, or at least does their best to stumble over my nom de plume …) This is an occasional feature wherein I will recommend some podcasts that are off the beaten path, but which may be worthy of your attention and subscription.

The undisputed king of conservative talk radio will always be Rush Limbaugh, he of blessed memory (h/t JJ Sefton at Ace of Spades, https://ace.mu.nu), who left us far too soon in 2021. Rush’s longtime producer and call screener, James Golden (a.k.a. Bo Snerdley), hosts a couple of shows on WABC radio in New York - the Rush Hour at 4:00pm Eastern on weekdays, and the Saturday morning radio extravaganza at 7:00am Eastern. James is a longtime radio personality in New York, dating back before he worked for Rush. He has an encyclopedic knowledge of music and history that makes his show a treat to listen to.

The excerpt I clipped above is from his most recent Saturday show, in which Derek Hunter joined him to discuss this story from Fox News about Jae'lynn Chaney, who is seeking to petition the FAA to accommodate “passengers of size” aboard aircraft. I found the segment above too hilarious and on-point not to share. I won’t spoil it — just listen, as it’s worth your time.
